When creating a business plan, the goal is to share your product with the world and ultimately make a profit. I had to ask myself would you really be satisfied with making great money selling your creation and the answer, believe it or not, was no. For years I have volunteered my in my community and created opportunities through other business endeavors for the youth to learn. To give back is so rewarding and adding that element to Purpose Designed by Adra Rene would truly be a dream and vision come true. I do believe this endeavor is a huge part of my purpose.
What Is The Focus?
Multiple sudies have shown that art engagement specifically crafting by hand alleviates anxiety, depression and stress. Arts and crafts activities serve as an outlet to release these challenging emotions in a personal and expressive manner.
According to a detailed study, peformed by the University of Arkansas Agricultural Division, the following benefits are results of crafting/art engagement;

As a individual that has sufferred in the past from depression and anxiety for most of my life, I agree with this study and want nothing more than to help other young ladies ages 12-19 achieve a sense of empowerment when battling mental illness/struggles.
When dealing with the youth strategy is really important. Creating a program that can ultimately sooth stress, depression and anxiety by utilizing crafting would be an effective strategy. You need stategy when encountering the youth. Crafting is a good way to young ladies to use their imagination and create!
My vision is to have a warehouse type facility to host art classes and events for these young ladies to explore and exhibit their talents. This will be a safe space to for them to learn how to develop or acquire artist skills all while soothing stress, anxiety and /or depression.
I have to decided it is important for me to focus on young black girls as that is where my experince lies and what to be as intentional as possible. I was a young black girl suffering in a community that didnt believe or even consider mental health and I want to be the solution to young black ladies that feel like they are unheard or have no outlets.
We do have a business plan and more specific details of the vision and happy to share with those willing to help.
